Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your data — in plain language.
Last updated: 2026-04-09
1. Who we are
TRADE-COST (“we”, “our”) operates the trade-cost.com platform, which provides landed-cost calculation for international trade, a marketplace of verified freight forwarders and an execution orchestrator for import/export operations.
Data controller: TPS 92 SASU, 128 rue La Boétie, 75008 Paris, France. SIRET 989 891 254 00017.
For any question related to your data, write to support@trade-cost.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data that is necessary for the service to work.
- Email — to create your account and send you the passwordless sign-in link
- Calculation data — HS codes, countries, values, weights, applied rates (stored for your history)
- Payment data — processed exclusively by our Merchant of Record partner (we never see your card number)
- Technical logs — IP address, browser, pages visited (retained for 30 days)
3. Why we use it
We use your data to provide the service, to bill your access, to send you operational notifications (e.g. purchase confirmation) and to improve the accuracy of our calculation engine.
We never sell, rent or share your data for advertising purposes.
4. Who has access
Your data is only accessible to the sub-processors strictly required to operate the service:
- Paddle.com Market Ltd. — payment processing and invoicing (Merchant of Record)
- Supabase (database hosting, EU region)
- Vercel / Cloudflare (application hosting)
- Resend or equivalent (sending the magic links)
5. International transfers
Some data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to guarantee a level of protection equivalent to the GDPR.
6. Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Calculation history is kept for 90 days (Starter) or indefinitely (Pro / Business).
Technical logs are purged after 30 days. Invoices are retained for 10 years to comply with accounting obligations.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data.
To exercise these rights, write to support@trade-cost.com from the email address linked to your account. We respond within 30 days at most.
You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in your country of residence.
8. Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function (session, language preference). No advertising or third-party analytics cookie is set without your explicit consent.
9. Security
All communication with trade-cost.com is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. User passwords are never stored — we use passwordless magic-link authentication. Data at rest is protected by row-level security rules.
10. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect legal or functional changes. The version in force is always published on this page with its last-updated date.
